After a few weeks of conceptualizing, planning, testing, and troubleshooting, we are now live on our subdomain!
I will be adding lots of features and functionality in the weeks ahead, but basic operations have been tested working.
As it stands today, Little Lottery Helper aims to assist players of the Powerball multi-state lottery in making number selections that could increase their chances of winning. If the site is well-received, we will be adding similar selection tools for MegaMillions and possibly even some state lotteries.
At the present moment, I have only enabled selections based on the white ball totals, allowing users to specify a minimum and a maximum total. Details of this feature are available in the Powerball section of our site.
Additional filtering options we are considering are outlined below:
- Inclusion of specific numbers (i.e., for birth dates, personal lucky numbers, etc.)
- Exclusion of previous Powerball combinations
- Exclusion of sequential combinations (i.e., “1, 2, 3, 4, 5” or “26, 27, 28, 29, 30”)
We will also be adding more statistics and analytics to previous Powerball drawings, including:
- Table of frequency for white balls and red balls
- Charts illustrating distribution of white ball totals
- Plots of recent drawings to illustrate when numbers were last drawn
We are also considering the addition of user accounts to save and monitor favorite number combinations, newsletter opt-in for site updates and Powerball news, and other premium features as our user base grows.
While we don’t expect to ever charge users for using the site or signing up for membership, we do plan on implementing advertising to offset the costs of development and related hosting fees.
